Interiors
I look under exteriors to gain a peek If you only, only, only, only knew the truth my mind instinctively seeks to know most completely about you I look at actions to understand what a heart is all about the total measure of a man to try to figure reasons out. I often wonder the how and why the purpose to my being. There is no truth that I must deny. When I look, I accept the seeing. I face a future like others, unknown yet try to set plans and goals. I can glance back and say I’ve grown having often crashed among the shoals. I look into the eyes to find a soul hoping that humanity is there but often there is darkness, dread and cold with a spirit that just doesn’t care. I look into the eyes and I see love hidden in the mindset of refusal private thoughts never spoken of lacking in the moments for proposal. I look at interiors more than a peek if you only, only, only, only, knew the truth my mind instinctively seeks to know most completely about you. 10/7/19 line from If You Only, Only, Only Knew revised to fit meter of line from your poem, Broken People "I look under exteriors to gain a peek," one extra "only" added.
