I was glad this made my Grandma happy, for she waited the whole year for this to see, and rushed to the kitchen as if on a flight, to roast for me a few golden delight. She brought the yellow pile of my treat, on the rocking chair I hurriedly took my seat. I had a quick gluttonous bite, and to tell the truth, the sweet corn grains melted divine in my mouth. My dogs looked on waiting for pieces of delicacy, Grandma smiled at my delight she sought to see. Those golden moments of youth have drifted away, I won’t let the painted canvas of memory ever fray.
