Social Engineering
From the day of our birth we are engineered, ‘do this, do that’ dictated by peers. Father knows best, mother does too, get a job, conform, it’s the treadmill for you! Pass the exams, move up the ladder, pass even more, else your life won’t matter. Go to college or uni, or you will fail, more exams to pass, you must prevail. Get a career, one with prospects they say. A proper job, one that will pay. Doesn’t matter your dreams, won’t settle the rent. You’re now on the treadmill, your life is spent. Your existence suppressed, surrounded by debt, carry on with the job, bills must be met. Keep the proper job going, so you are told, don’t follow your dreams; you’re now too old. You’ve been cheated of life, not allowed to express your true inner self with no time to address. As you draw your last breath you might contemplate you didn’t follow your dreams, by then it’s too late.
