I'M Just Getting Started
I’m just getting started! Why? Well it’s the beginning of the poem for one, and secondly......yeah well, I’ll get to that later! Main point is that the reason ‘I’m just getting started’ is important is because getting started is my problem. You see I’m waffling again because I just can’t get going! At the moment I’m thinking to myself ‘Come on get in with it!!’ But get in with what? If I could have gotten on with it, I would!! People ask me how I’m getting on with my writing and my standard reply is, ‘I’m just getting started!’ Pathetic I know. I mean this will be a completed piece work when I’ve finished but then again, it’s not a piece of work at all. So, don’t get me started on ‘I’m just getting started.’ I’m going to have to change this phrase to ‘I’m just getting finished.’ At least then I’ll have moved on. At the moment I’m stuck in a world of ‘I’m just getting started.’ I swear that phrase will be on my headstone. Is there a phobia for the phrase ‘I’m just getting started?’ Because if there is I’ve got it! I can only hope someone comes up with a cure! Until then ‘I’m just getting started’ will be the curse I’ll just have to live with. I'm just getting started poetry contest. Sponsor - John Hamilton 21st September 2019
