He Is Meek
He was gentle and compassionate Filled with love and tenderness Yet, beyond the mildness of the lamb There was the reality that He had the Strength of lions disguised in meek He was affectionate to those who needed A devoted heart and a soothing spirit Someone who would listen with empathy And give them an opportunity to be Understood with true, kindly sympathy He was kind to the broken hearted And gave sincere love to those in need There was a sense of God’s wisdom In all his words, parables and miracles He gave them all His true discernment He listened to the lame and poor Told the demons to leave their prey Yet, most often, the pharisees came And put him down for doing good deeds Making the people see their blessings He washed the disciples feet with joy That He was giving, serving in love Sharing the light that is sent from above The sweetness and quietness of a dove Meant to bring down God’s gracious spirit He taught in the tabernacle and His disciples too Giving them the greatest lessons ever instructed Reassuring their questions with deepest insight Answering them with truth that He was Their guide, their light, their mercy in love He welcomed the children to his knee Told all who would listen how he did feel About the father up above, the one who Gave his utmost, His one and only son Jesus is always the very best I AM!
