By Definition -Slightly Revised
"Intransigence: characterized by refusal to compromise or to abandon an often extreme position or attitude : UNCOMPROMISING" - Merriam Webster No money had he to buy a new house to come up with a huge down payment, yet he refused to rent or to live with family as he was repeatedly advised. He borrowed the down payment money instead. Renting is for losers, he says, and "I always must live on my own." He sinks deeper and deeper in debt. His funds do not cover his living expenses, yet he simply won't do the appropriate things to better his situtation. He keeps all his dogs that are costing more money for trips to the vet and the food that they eat. He goes out and buys them Burger King treats - chicken nuggets. Those untrained dogs pee all over his carpet. He’d rather his house stink than give up one dog. Examples of his improvidence and intransigence abound. He’s sitting on gold and some silver - enough that would pay off a lot of his debts. But he tells us, oh no, I can’t cash that in. That’s for future emergencies (like when the world ends). A more bullheaded and sickly old man I never have met. He tells all the world he never will die, and I’m starting to believe it! July 20, 2019
