He borrowed the down payment money instead. Renting is for losers, he says, and "I always must live on my own." He sinks deeper and deeper in debt. His funds do not cover his living expenses, yet he simply won't do the appropriate things to better his situtation. He keeps all his dogs that are costing more money for trips to the vet and the food that they eat. He goes out and buys them Burger King treats - chicken nuggets. Those untrained dogs pee all over his carpet. He’d rather his house stink than give up one dog. Examples of his improvidence and intransigence abound. He’s sitting on gold and some silver - enough that would pay off a lot of his debts. But he tells us, oh no, I can’t cash that in. That’s for future emergencies (like when the world ends).
