A Paper Boat
Life journeying through waves of events With each breath drawing to its terminal point Like a paper boat braving the turbulent currents And every move loosening its folds and joint How to spend love’s inexhaustible treasure? How to drown in this fathomless sea How short is the time to share this pleasure! Merge souls defying recognition as you and me Enjoy the boat ride while its strength stays Deny not to your eyes the beauty of open seas Lend your ears to the music of serene waves Milk every moment each possibility squeeze Petty squabbles and clashes steal irretrievable time Let the fine instincts of giving emerge from soul Let the poetry of love float in horizon and rhyme For death is lying in ambush to play its role WINNER in the Debbie Guzzi Competition "Something Different" Judged on Dec. 31, 2011
