There's a Monster In My Closet
There's a monster in my closet, But I am not afraid. I even offered him some toast With orange marmalade. I lie there in the dark, And listen to him munch. I think he likes to nibble For I never hear a crunch. There's a monster in my closet. I told my mom and dad. They simply asked if he was good, Or if he was bad. He's very, very quiet. He hardly makes a peep. I listen for the longest time Until I'm fast asleep. There's a monster in my closet. Scamper! Scurry! Squeak! I hide under the blankets, And then I take a peek! I use my trusty flashlight. A shadow's on the wall. His body is so big and fat. His head is very small. There's a monster in my closet. I toss my teddy bear. I toss my favorite nursery rhymes. I toss my underwear! So father did some searching, Especially for me. It wasn't long before he made A big discovery! "There's a monster in your closet! But do not be afraid." And then he headed for the fridge. "I'll fix this renegade!" He put a little cheese In a tiny little trap, And caught a little mouse With a sneaky, snacky... SNAP!
