I Am Here
I AM HERE by JOHN M. ARRIBAS I am here exactly where I should be Directed and positioned solely by me There were snares and forks in the road That only I unknowingly had to decode It was learn on the go, on the job training A daily enigma of what might be waiting Everything that happened was caused by me By action or inaction, in retrospect, easy to see By choices accepted or allowed to die on the vine Left to the fancy of others, when they were mine I unconsciously directed every step on the path Unaware if I’d be savoring joy or chilling wrath It was always a mystery that I had to solve It was a constant dilemma for me to absolve Breaks in the action gave time for thought Calculated planning often resulted in naught I can’t complain, where I find myself today I was the author directing, every step of the way I am certain now that I was “Captain” of my ship I am exactly where I was destined, to be on my trip I am fully responsible for all my achievements I take complete blame for all my disappointments Aware or unaware I was managing my play I can not accuse anyone for where I am today And yet, there are times when I rigidly question Am I the architect of events in this dimension There may be forces beyond my comprehension Am I a singular version or a previous extension Were all my actions originally cast by me Or am I simply following a program laid out for me Now that I am approaching the final inning Is this the end? Or another new beginning
