Days Or Us
Has it ever crossed your mind how many times it has crossed your ear? About those crossroad terrors that instil fear, Or those crucifying rail rides by seers Where crooks cronies crack jokes about their cruel peers Elders nostalgically craft creative stories that ignite crowd cheers. Just how often they talk about the youth that gores with knives and spears As if that’s all they want us to hear. Okay, technology has evolved and that’s crystal clear But besides the polluted atmosphere, Has things really changed in our sphere? “Drop me here” A passenger says as the driver changes his gear He takes the money and pay attention to the rap music playing on his rear And sees nearby pregnant teenagers indulging in beer An old man at the back shakes his head in disbelief and exclaims “Oh dear”! How the good old day have quickly come to disappear Will it cross your mind anytime near? That times have actually not changed as it may appear Nor have the people who still smile, laugh and shed a tear Perhaps the media has help raise the idea Those even in the past have been present times as drear It’s quite queer how our senior’s jeers making us look leer By Orsbon Fatyela
