The Curtain of Pain Fell Upon Us
When the curtain of pain fell upon us… grateful were we since God’s comfort indeed readily wrapped our hearts. somehow cognizant of death’s reality we, siblings, thought we were prepared …yet, though our minds wanted to defy sorrows’ pangs our emotional angst just burst… as normally as they should. “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”* thus declare the Scriptures’ precepts confronting, yet assuring our souls to the very core during our dear Dad’s burial. We admitted earnestly against grace of hypocrisy… …undoubtedly shown by our tears freely flowing--- our vulnerability when the curtain of pain fell upon us. Dad’s coffin was finally placed inside its resting place midst reverberating spiritual hymns. Peeping through the curtain of pain was radiant hope as we believe that Dad’s faith in Christ ceaselessly glows with praise-filled gratitude to the mighty God of resurrection** while he continues to inspire others to live their best, even in pain! *1Corinthians 15:55 ** John 11:25 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” April 25, 2019 2nd place, "Verses of Metaphors 3..." Poetry Contest Sponsored by Lu Loo; judged on 4/30/2019.
