Why
They tell me “I do”, I reply with a sly and helpless smile. That leaves my mind well off for awhile, But I recall our first date in Central Park. I looked at the trees and didn't know what they would spark, If you look at the branches and the base, you discover letter that you will never erase. Why do I see Y’s in the trees, All floating asking questions of who I want to be. Why do I see whys in the eyes of the relentless tries of my love, Before it was wise to see and comply to emotional shoves. Are you perplexed please confide with me. Deprived reprise our infamous lies, Alive flowing free, Surmised compromised time after a million tries, Surviving through a plea. Of needing and wanting and flauntlessly jaunting, Our unnecessary opportunity. To fit in and feel great, And stop mistaking, The facade you’ve convinced yourself, Into accepting erroneous plastered ideals. I don’t want you to have lies in your eyes, Like the multitude in the oak branches. Be wise I advise I know you always try, Don’t create desperate avalanches. Crushing ice and rock to fall down, Hoping you don’t suffocate and drown. Because of the lies you try to hide, If you don’t love me let me know, Before my hope all dies. Because I don’t have any whys about how I love you Because I’m feeling wise when I say That you are for me but I want you to be happy So if you don’t it’s okay at least I will always know why
