One Follower At a Time, Part I
When Pelchag first head of the new prophet he didn’t give it all that much real thought, some merchant claimed that on a cliff-top by a trio of angels he’d been taught what God desired of his mortal children, what sinful ways of mankind must now end, but this prophet was a magnetic man and soon the kings of this cold world did bend. To satiate his growing followers, they all proclaimed his teachings the True Faith, Pelchag still didn’t give the strict rules much thought, until the prophet came to his town one day. The man spoke with a joy that belied his rules, soon young Pelchag found himself enrapt, later he asked the prophet,”What must I do if I am to become a part of that?” The prophet just smiled, touched Pelchag’s head, said,”Look here, at a man’s faith, euphoric! I vest in him my powers, sent by God, from here on out he will be your cleric!: Pelchag was stunned by the words the man spoke, but God’s messenger could not be denied, the next day he went to the new temple and went about setting on up inside. Soon people were coming to him for advice, he now exercised great authority, there was much work to do spreading the new faith, and Pelchag set about it fervently. He didn’t want them to be lost to fire, but their stubbornness he couldn’t destroy, so he declared, using a holy writ, that all of their marriages now were void. He declared they would be valid again when the un-believers fell in line, proclaimed,”We are here to serve the prophet, one follower at a time.” Some were unsure about his bold words, but he was the prophet’s chosen servant, most converted to escape the hassle, and for a while things quietly went. Until one night a local youth got drunk and forced himself upon a local girl, they strung both up and Pelchag decided that new strictures would have to be unfurled. He said,”The prophet knows God hates spirits, they work the devil’s will upon you mind, by banning them we are serving the prophet, one follower at a time.” Now this sent more than a few grumbles out, but many replied it was for a good cause, the new faith meant a better tomorrow, so it would have to change a few ‘old’ laws...
