They Said I Did Not Have To Know Music
A spider a day keeps the apple away. A spider a day makes the day oh so gray! A spider a day, so it must be almost May! At the top of our lungs now, everybody sing. Spider! Spider! Spider! Another teacher runs in. What are you doing? Teaching them a new song. Who are you? I am a substitute teacher who kept trying not to take this job. Why did you take it? They told me I did not have to know music to be the music teacher today. Stern look now. Where are the lesson plans? I hand them over. It says play this on the piano, play this on the guitar, and teach the 6th graders how to read musical scores. The teacher looks at me, looks at the sixth graders, and says carry on. I think you are doing a heck of a job. We start marching next.
