Who Is She?
I went to the doctor yesterday She asked me a whole bunch of questions That I answered with a smile How often are you upset? At least once a day… Why? Aren’t you supposed to tell me? Fair enough… Have you ever harmed yourself? Yes. Are you thinking about doing it again? I had to think about this carefully… No. Fiona, I think you’re depressed I opened my mouth, so something could come out But nothing did All of the stuff Was going on in my head Depressed? Me? No… I can’t be. That’s for people who are sad. I’m not sad, I’m a happy person… right? Yeah, sure, I can be sad. But that’s only when I watch sad movies. Wait… depressed? I turned to her With a look of despair I turned to my right And saw a mirror But the person who was staring back, I could not recognize I tried to look deep into her eyes To see if there was some familiarity there But there was nothing I looked back at the doctor Who is that? I asked. Fiona… are you okay? Yes, yes, I am fine, Who is she? Fiona… that’s you.
