Poverty Shot Opportunity
Word on the street is, Poverty shot Opportunity Killed him dead My ghetto homies said, Poverty shot Opportunity in the head Always feeling like he had the raw end of the deal, Poverty could no longer keep his anger stilled He had kept his cool for a long time, yes Poverty did But Opportunity always liked to shut the door in Poverty’s face, and disrespect Poverty’s manhood ... treat him like a kid Word on the street is, Poverty shot Opportunity Killed him dead That’s what my ghetto home boyz said I heard through the grapevine that the final straw, what made Poverty pull the trigger instead He had caught Opportunity in the act, fooling with his girl Misery in the bed That’s what I heard from my hood homies, that’s what my ghetto home girlz said: Poverty shot Opportunity in the head, and killed him dead And all of my ghetto homies said: Poverty didn’t try to help Opportunity, he just watched as he bled I heard that Poverty was smiling as Opportunity begged for a chance to live Poverty sneered: “You always kept taking, and you still want me to give Opportunity pleaded for his life But Poverty didn’t show Opportunity any mercy that night That’s what my ghetto homies said: Poverty shot Opportunity in the head Poverty bullet kissed Opportunity, and killed him dead
