'he's So Fine'
‘HE’S SO FINE’ a song from the 60s sung by the Chiffons A wet afternoon in early December I yearn for the summer I can hardly remember Such a dismal day so grey and so dark Feeling like daylight never made a start ‘Sounds of the Sixties’ was blaring from my radio songs from our youth we had loved so long ago A few months back I‘d sent a mail; a new spot on the show called ‘Magic Moments’; a dedication played upon the radio Imagine my surprise to hear the DJ speak our names Recalling how we’d met my love; you set my heart aflame The song that I had chosen; a special tune of yours and mine was playing through my radio; The Chiffons, ‘He’s So Fine’ Tears were rolling down my face, recalling when we met A dance hall on a summer’s night; a night I'll not forget As the DJ says your name, memories come flooding back This era was ours; those songs of our youth; he plays our youthful soundtrack Such joyful memories pervade my mind, listening to the Chiffons Though sadly listening all alone; ten years have passed since you’ve been gone But I can hear and see your smile and know you’re listening all the while For you were truly ‘Oh So Fine’ my dearest husband, eternally mine Written 2nd December 2018 Contest Name STRAND CHOICE 6 Sponsor Brian Strand 3rd Place Written when my request was read out on 1st December 2018, by Tony Blackburn on Sounds of the Sixties ‘Magic Moments’ spot... and I even won the 'Nearly Gold Medalion' what a lucky girl, haha!
