The First Pain
Stepping into the night Face buried deep in her hands Once again she will fight Once again she will not win For there you are A storm cloud blocking the sun Knowing she won't get far She gives up once again The hidden strength won't come out Deeply hidden it will forever remain As this enemy called doubt Slowly takes this young life away Last night the flames burned high Yet the fire didn't erase your face She still recalls every lie Her life still slowly slips away Bearing an unknown pain that produces too much fear And a juvenile heart beating too fast She asks why her first love won't reappear Yet the answer is silenced by the unforgiving past Just a shadow in the night Fighting against the first pain This young life will search for the light Her final attempt to become sane The family prays out loud tonight For they've been there not knowing what to do They to know what it's like to lose the light That once whispered I love you to
