Amendments One and Two
Amendments One and Two By Franklin Price 11/16/2018 Lately I've been thinking About amendments one and two And of the rights they guarantee To the likes of me and you The first is for the right of speech For religion and for press For gathering in a peaceful manner Not to lie and cause duress To petition Representatives Who are sitting on the hill To tell them of our grievances That we've more than had our fill Representatives elected To represent us one and all Not to represent their parties Who have sent them to the ball Not to bow down to the mega rich Not To guarantee their quest Not to take their dirty money That puts them to the legal test The Congress to be seated At the beginning of the year Should consider we the people We the people make that clear And if they do not listen No matter what we do And try to take our rights away We still have amendment two We have the right to bear our arms Protect ourselves and family If they try to take our rights away We should not go out quietly I pray we never have to act I hope we all agree If Washington would do its job We will never have to see
