Losing My Way
The wind, blows the chilling mist onto my face. it cools my skin, flushed from my tears. A refreshing wind, my tears now erased, if only it could do the same to my fears. I walk along in the dark, hoping to find my way, from the beach onto the path that I know. I pause, it feels unfamiliar, so I hurry, no delay. Did I go too far, not far enough, now where do I go? The wind has picked up, pushing me further along. The darkness has totally surrounded me. My heart is beating faster, where did I go wrong? I didn't walk that far, how lost can I be? I know I will eventually find my way but it is the sense of being so alone. Realizing that this is the way it will stay. A sad reminder of how long I have been on my own. The cold wind bringing tears to my eyes, making it hard to see. But some moonlight filters through cloudy skies, showing that familiar path, which is right in front of me.
