The Open Door
I took a stroll to clear my thoughts, deep in the woods, the path had brought. The dark then found me all alone, I lost the sight of light that shown. I traveled blind among the pine, until an open glade I find. The only sound that I could hear, the echo of my heart from fear. Then I saw a light so dim nearby, it drew my stare and held my eye. Then something very strange appeared, and soon I felt my fear had cleared. I stood before a crease in time, a portal to things left behind. Once I walked through open door, all things I knew, I knew no more. I lost my way, but self I found, and to this earth I am not bound. Will walk in starlight all my days, while in the sunrise will I gaze. So cry nor seek for me no more, unless you pass the open door. And if you choose to follow me, stay far behind and let me be. If you go your way, I'll go mine, then both our inner peace we'll find. 11/1/18
