Heaven's Tears
(verse 1) I stand like a cross Face skyward and lost As you drip from my soul with the rain And deep in my bones Burned alive - turned to stone I'm consumed by the kiss of your pain (chorus) Heaven shed your tears on me My eyes no longer cry for me She took every last one from me So now I have to cry with Heaven's tears Oh, heaven's tears (verse 2) My gaze used to swim And strain to the rim To drown in the flood of her lies But that torrent shed Then depleted and bled And drained all the weep from my eyes (chorus) Heaven shed your tears on me My eyes no longer cry for me She took every last one from me So now I have to cry with Heaven's tears Yes now I have to cry with Heaven's tears Oh, heaven's tears (bridge) Canopy shrouds Open the clouds Baptize the gray Wash me away Bring on the rains Open my veins Put these dry and mournful eyes To sleep (verse 3) Oh how can it be That sane men can see Yet not know a dream from a curse My tears and her blood Mixed marrow with mud And I'll never know which is worse No I'll never know which is worse (chorus) Heaven shed your tears on me My eyes no longer cry for me She took every last one from me So now I have to cry with Heaven's tears Yes now I have to cry with Heaven's tears Oh, heaven's tears Oh -oh heaven's tears Cry with heaven's tears She took the very last (repeat chorus out)
