On Searching For a Vocation In the Universe
Nothing is devised or divined in the Universe to forever be. Nothing is held always in truth; nor ever wholly wrong. So look to those who find in life, wonder, beauty, and song. Foolish Men: There's always room for wit, and laughter can repair the soul. The instruments of man are many, so words are powerful too. But be wary the man who with sharpened tongue, uses sarcasm and boast to leave others bleeding, and cleanses his own wounds with their tears. Men who rest on laurels: I don't care if you seek scholarly degrees in science or mathematics. But, please remember your teachers, without whom you would've wandered lost, and that Life is the greatest teacher of all. I don't care about trophies, or who ran the fastest mile. Though, you would make a better coach than I. I don't care if you were the greatest General that ever fought in battle. But in time of war would seek your advice, and wisely, rather than the baker. Though, to the Universe, truly, you are one & the same. Men of means & no means: I don't care if you were blessed with great fortune, nor hold it against you either. Though he who has never known loss, nor hunger can fully appreciate a life so blessed. However, if life handed you a tall ladder that let you peer over walls. I would ask that you please share it, with the shortest man in the world. I care not if you come from riches or rags, and ask that you do the same by me. Men of Pride & Power: Be mindful of the man who commemorates his own deeds, and builds statues in his own honor. For there have been great rulers of lands, the shepherds of people throughout the ages. And just as many tyrants. Be wary of power that corrupts. Remember King Dionysius' message to Damocles. And the sword hung over his throne, held only by a single hair of a horse's tail. Men too strong in belief: Be wary the Man who holds to his faith, at the expense of yours. Their soul is their's alone to lose or save. And your soul is your's. Listen with your heart, it always knows. Men of Hatred: Be wary of the man who hates his own shadow, or that of his sister's and brother's. Who with cynical sneer, chastises virtues that you hold dear. Men were meant to work together in fellowship, with no jealousy or prejudice. Men who charm with empty hearts: Be leery of the man who takes a fair bride, only to hold, a wandering eye. Who charms away beauty from the beautiful. Help those that seek help. But remember yourself first. For you can't pour from an empty cup.
