Parable of the Talents
PARABLE OF THE TALENTS A rich man gave five talents to the first man To the second man, he gave two To a third, according to his plan He felt only one talent would do He then took a journey to a far away land Upon his return he took into account The talent he had given each man The man with five doubled his amount Likewise the man who had been given two Doubled the amount to make four The man with one was unsure what to do He had buried it and made nothing more From five talents to ten was worthy of praise He had been faithful with a few things And his master, to prove his kindly ways Gave him the ruler over many things The same with the servant who was given two And was diligent and made two more He also received greater things to do Because he presented his master with four The servant who had received only one Had nothing to give in return He was ashamed of what he had done His talent being buried had no way to earn The gist of this story told by Christ that day Is indicative of the gifts received by those Who serve God faithfully and walk in the Way The Blessings we are given just as God chose But we must invest them for His glory As we await Christ's Second return So I encourage you to heed this story The Savior died for you, and you He will not spurn 15 September 2018 For the contest sponsored by Holly Primerano
