It had wounds that had dug deep, Through the bandages, lots of blood would continuously seep, And I began to doubt, if my life, I would get to keep. The damages, they quickly assessed, I could tell it wasn’t pretty, as they looked really distressed, More convincing to me, that with another day, I wouldn’t be blessed. They repeatedly asked me to point to the pain chart, Every time I did, in disbelief they looked at me and back at my heart, How to explain it, they didn’t know where to start. I kept pointing at the zero, which to them made no sense, Judging from the wounds, the pain should have been immense, But judging from the scarring, they hadn’t realized my past had been more intense.
