Coronation of a Soldier
CORONATION OF A SOLDIER She was quite a soldier through those final days Fighting with a cancer that would not go away. Surgeries to remove it left her deeply scarred, Pain she was enduring made her life quite hard. Then the chemo treatments offered little hope; Yet this precious soldier bravely with it coped. Everyone who saw her heard her smile and say, “God has some great purpose for this here today. I accept His choosing, and His perfect will, For I know His presence is there with me still.” So on this occasion, we don’t mourn in grief; This brave, courageous soldier has found her relief! She is now in heaven, all the pain is o’er, And she’s waiting for us on that golden shore. She’s had a coronation, a ceremony there As others she is meeting in that land so fair. Other soldiers like her, each who fought and won, Now are free forever in the land beyond the sun. This soldier leaves behind her but one simple request: “Trust the Lord as I did, and be fully blessed! Take Him as your Savior, let Him have your soul, Trust Him just like I did to have the full control. Then when your life’s over, He takes you away, You’ll join a procession on YOUR coronation day! --Written in memory of Sharon Badley
