My Sweet Baby Ella Rose
We were told many times I could never conceive, such heartbreaking news we couldn’t believe. In tears I wept for days, for I longed for a child, a little girl or boy to hold so tender and mild. May 24th, 2005, I got good news of reprieve. I was expecting a baby to care for and hold, but there were many things I was never told. Like the highs and lows of soon being a parent, for the trials of pregnancy were apparent, but when I saw that ultrasound, my heart was sold. A little girl for daddy to teach how to be strong, a mommy I was to be to teach right from wrong. I saw ten fingers and ten toes and was elated, only God could bestow something beautifully created. Every night I sang “Close to You”, my lil girl’s song. Feeling her kick and move about brought exhilaration, leaving me with such an unbelievable sensation to have her in my arms the moment she is born, a day to remember that my heart no longer torn. For she would be my most marvelous creation. February 12, 2006 was the day I had my Ella Rose, she had the most rosy cheeks and smallest nose. It was a hard delivery, but every pain was worth it to see my sweet girl in which I had given birth. For I never knew love before, and yet it still grows.
