1959
In '59 the world was fine. in yellow, childlike summertime. There was Charlton Heston, being" Ben Hur" Fidel Castro's ferocious slur. brand new '59 Ford Galaxies people on trains going "North by Northwest" a man wanting to marry a man cause" Some Like it Hot" and wars were cold. Killers were crazy, caught and hanged, and the greatest hairdo was a ponytail and bang. There was family TV, family meal and family car. Refrigerators powered big buxom doors, and the ice cream man cometh the gasman, milkman and doctor. Born were Boeing 707's, Barbie Dolls and colorized "Bonanza" as the 60's danced on the shoulders of this golden era, all bliss and pink paradise visions, visions, of cat eye marbles and jacks left to keep of snow-cones, bicycles, hula hoops mellowing into a silver decade no pain, no American tears pure trust. Until their blood splattered on us. 7/6/18 2022 Poetry Marathon Mile 21' 11/27/2022 Sponsored by: Mark Toney
