Stolen Promise
I have been within touching distance, you nearly stole my heart, but there was always something that got in the way, and started pulling us apart. Too many broken promises of a future I could never see, all I wanted was to love someone and for someone to truley love me. Did I hold you far too tightly? did I make you walk away? always into the arms of another there was nothing I could say. A piece of me was torn away each time that we parted, I had to shut you out to numb the pain that left me broken hearted Have I become too frozen? I dont let no-one in, I know I am scarred and broken, but have I let sadness win? I still remember the joy I felt when I let love enter my heart, if I could hold onto that feeling, it might be a very good start, I know I want to love again and share this love I feel, with a little love and patience, my heart can begin to heal.
