My Squidgy Dog
This date, he left, many years ago, my friend. Sqidgy, his name, my dog, a mutt, personified. As a pup sat in my shirt top pocket, oft slept to the beat of my heart, days when I walked miles on insect safaris. Other days he'd walk by my side, I'de lose him, so close he walked to my feet. My walks now, he's still with me, an obliging muse, his sense of humour has me thinking that I'm barking mad. Happy I am that he in spirit, is still my friend. Its like he guides me to sights I've never seen. A solitary bee species mating, a tiny male a huge Queen A sight not seen by many, Naturalists being no exception. I still miss my cuddly friend, I sit, I ponder, Is there an up there? Will we again play ball? _______________________ 04/23/18 NEW POEMES ONLY CONTEST II sponsored Emile Pinet
