Mind
The mind. A chamber where thoughts are held, And dreams are made and destroyed. Where secrets hidden from open view, And emotions of suffering hide in an endless void. Grief and love flourish, Black, white, and gray in every shade, Music and color, logic and wonder, And the unavoidable pain. A place where fantasy can truly exist. All one must do is think. The place where true colors can be seen, And existence can be gone in a blink. A place where I love to stay, A place where I can be me. I think up some rhymes, I start to write, And thoughts turn to reality. The mind can also be tainted... It can be filled with dread and hate… And...sadly...for some of us… It’s already far too late… 4/16/18 For the "MID APRIL 2018 PREMIERE CONTEST,ANY FORM OR NONE,ANY THEME,UP TO A MAX OF 20 LINES" Contest Sponsored by Brian Strand Thanks to Tamara Beryl Latham for inspiring this poem with her comment on my poem "Sand"
