Green Satin and Burlap
She was wearing her green satin dress, soft and silky; often, she would touch the fabric to caress, she was sleek elegant with skin milky. On a park bench she was reading, a book of poetry old; stopping at times to do some bird feeding, the book was tattered with a cover once gold. He threw down his weathered burlap knapsack . . . and took out a homemade paper bag snack . . . She looked at him with great disgust, he was offensive; his clothes were wrinkled and his boots had dust, and she was getting ready to be defensive. But, his voice was so charming, and with blonde hair he was quite handsome; they talked and talked which she found alarming, and from that moment he held her heart ransom. In time, this satin and burlap couple said, "I do" . . . she wore satin and to his burlap bag he said, "adieu" . . . _______________________ March 14, 2018 Poetry/Rhyme/Green Satin and Burlap Copyright Protected, ID 18-1003-900-01 All Rights Reserved.
