A New Day
A brand new day in my home town dawns When innovative ideas imbued with empathy strengthen bones To afford the vulnerable occasions to fete Events in rents, scents and tents that uplift their fate. A brand new day wrapped in open opportunities Brings along bliss shared in my communities Where rich and poor hobnob with one another To harmonise coexistence for inhabitants to enjoy together. A brand new day once in a while generates renewal Ensconced in better relationships to mark malice withdrawal Affording neighbours ounces of chances to live in harmony To share laughter and love with neither pomp nor ceremony. A brand new day shines through the veneer of offence and pretence When altruism and optimism promote life beyond mere existence For my community members to live above the poverty datum line In which zillions of ghetto dwellers wallow on a famine incline.
