Creed
This is my creed It’s what I believe, That we are not meant To hate or deceive, We all share a human face United in a state of grace, No one is better, And none has the right, To denigrate life Or give up the fight To cherish and value The love that unites, Value the broken, Those without hope. The mother with nothing Who struggles to cope. Beggars sleeping in cardboard beds Clothes and dreams torn to shreds The widow crying “ what’s it all about ? “ A TV, a sofa and bottle of stout ?” Can’t you feel the pain ? Or hear the sad refrain Of the lonely crying out Crushed by suffering and doubt ? Longing for communication, This forgotten generation. Don’t accept it, punch the air Bury apathy, resurrect CARE For we are all connected We are not meant to be alone We bleed, we cry, we ache, we long For LOVE to bring us home....
