Your Palms and Fingers
We stood separated by the fence, Most of our early days were stolen moments: Your mom would not let go of her gem: I had fallen for your palms and fingers, So soft and velvet, a handshake Across the fence made perfect sense: Through the years your palms and fingers Have carressed my body, heart and soul; Done wonderful work for my people Be some of them as ungrateful as they can: Each day I pray that God bless their work; Grant them abundance and expansion: Oooops, I fell for your velvet palms and fingers And I was not mistaken, neither misled. It was real inspiration, The work of your gentle hands Continue to show me, That your palms and fingers Are the eyes of your heart: Soft as wool, rugged like diamond; It's in the works, not the mouth. I love you!
