Quiet Hero
The beast in darkened lair does thirst For human blood, the village curse Upon full moon it greets the night Consumes its prey until daylight As full moon calls upon the beast To come, arise, take part in feast One lonely man, takes up a bow Readies his arrows, to do in the foe It was there among the many trees The moonlight brightened well, he sees The hungered beast, he slowly nears With utmost quiet, suppresses fears His hand upon the feathered glide With hopes it reaches deep inside His mighty arm it pulled back tight As the arrow then took aim and flight But no, the creature had turned in time To see the arrow come. What crime! He reached real fast, an arrow took His hands were strong although they shook Placed, with point aimed at the head He released with hopes to make him dead Smiled now, as he gained some ground For the beast let out its dying sound He walked backed to his village square It was quiet and still, no one there Retreating then to his humble abode He fell off to slumber with story not told
