The Tramp
I need to change my life the tramp was heard to say, I don't ask for much I am easily pleased, But life on the road is no longer the way, And I am finding it harder to get through each day. There once was a time, when the open road, Meant ,adventure, excitement, the chance to roam free, But now there's no room for the vagrants code, And no one will invite you to tea, in this cold society. I once had a friend who would tramp miles every day, A constant companion, Bill Westway by name, His knowledge and wit, would make every one smile, He was killed by some youths, whilst climbing a stile. I've decided to hang up my boots,as It were, And have managed to take up with a lady whose fair, She appears to think of me,quite nicely it seems, But I am still on the road with old Bill, in my dreams.
