Politics In Motion
Politics in Motion Marching to the drummers beat; of Yankee Doodle Dandy; While on a float of stars and stripes; our uncle throws his candy. With promises obligatory; and request for contributions; Claiming if elected; there’ll be paid back restitutions. Milling through the crowed; picking through some pockets; Junior league aspirer's; recite with pins and lockets. Flags and banners waving; enticement off the gage; Barbecue’s and concerts; it’s the coming of an age. Who are all these people; don’t they see the trend; Isn’t this the same old thing; over and again? They genuflect to power; and kiss the leaders hand; they’ve been down there for so long; I doubt that they can stand. Politics and power; a blessing to the race; Infusions and intrusions; and disbursing crowds with mace; Appearing to be better; just look around the world; But who is that who’s lying there; behind the dumpster curled. In a dream there was a vision; of a monster of great might; Riding on a cloud so dark; it turns the day to night. Laughing like a maniac; for we are all to blame; He travels at the speed of light; to leave us all in shame. Collecting printed paper; with promises to pay; perhaps may someday fuel a fire; to heat our hopeless days. Look at all those zeros; where do they all come from; what happened to the bill of rights; and all of us as one?
