Every Day- Version Ii
Well, Every day I wonder If every day I'll fall And anytime that I mess up With no time to fix it all, I wonder why I'm still going Why I haven't broken yet How I have strength to go again No matter how dire the threat But every day I get back up And tell myself that I am strong Even if tears will fill my eyes I'm determined to move along And every day I wonder If the people can see me through If they can see the bitterness That keeps me dark and blue I see the mess around me And am determined to fix it all Even though it can't be fixed I can't bear to see it fall And here I am, still wondering In the ruins of all I held dear How I'm still surviving With what little comfort I have near Holding fast to the rod of iron At least as well as I can be Trying hard to no longer wonder What the darkness may do to me *Note: I wrote a poem when I was 12 with the same title and subject, but the rhymes were awful and it didn't make much sense, so I took the first stanza, tweaked it, and went from there, resulting in version II of "Every Day". Enjoy!
