Thoughts of 20 Years From Now
Time. It’s a funny concept to ponder. So much has happened And so much has yet to happen, Yet, the only thing that exists Is now. The only thing that is certain Is now. Who knows what life will be like 20 years from now, 2 years from now, Even 2 hours from now. But one can certainly imagine. I close my eyes, and see A quaint dwelling adorned with my touch And the touch of a loved one; The living room has pictures Of children who have yet To be even thought of. I hear the paws of a Shih Tzu Saunter on a hardwood floor, Like she owns the place. We spend nights watching films. Because you can never run out of them, And because we’re that kind of family-- Simple but worthwhile. My eyes open, wide and wondrous. It’s strange to think about, but I smile at it anyways.
