The only thing that is certain Is now. Who knows what life will be like 20 years from now, 2 years from now, Even 2 hours from now. But one can certainly imagine. I close my eyes, and see A quaint dwelling adorned with my touch And the touch of a loved one; The living room has pictures Of children who have yet To be even thought of. I hear the paws of a Shih Tzu Saunter on a hardwood floor, Like she owns the place. We spend nights watching films. Because you can never run out of them, And because we’re that kind of family-- Simple but worthwhile. My eyes open, wide and wondrous. It’s strange to think about, but I smile at it anyways.
