November
There was a special kind of warmth in the dark tonight- Something that made me feel like it would be alright. Even though you probably don’t really care at all. That would be no surprise, that’s my story of fall. Contentment is the only word I can use to explain Why I want to go through this again. ‘Cause if there’s you; I don’t have to worry about her wall Which keeps me out, but of course, that’s my fall. Someone (it was time) had to take her place So that I could finally erase The precious time I wasted as she’d stall- But after all, it’s only fall. I would steal rainbows if that would catch your eye, And I would hold my breath as I searched the sky- Running till I couldn’t and had to crawl Except that the color has already left- the mark of fall. Soon the world will be more than still And I will have to wait until The ice will thaw, and you will recall The words I may have mentioned- during fall. Nobody (not even me) will know what I mean And I will turn and leave the scene- Like Cinderella at the ball, Hoping you will catch me when I fall. Though you probably don’t really care at all. Here’s hoping you will catch me when I fall.
