Four Seasons of Change
Summer is here, things have changed, I sit and watch the light warm rain. I wonder just why God opens the sky, I ponder on how the birds can still fly. Spring wasn’t bad, the flowers bloomed, Brides getting ready, to wed their grooms. Romance all over, it is the season, Lovers in every corner, they don’t need a reason. Autumn is special, it says something new, Scattered leaves, howling winds, chapped lips too. Children chasing dandelions, fireflies and more, Lessons learned with bruised knees, from falling on the floor. Winter will follow, but there’s no haste, To pull out warm blankets, all packed in a case. Log fires, love making, that I can handle, Soft music, red wine and a hundred lit candles These four seasons of loneliness I watch go by, Log fires, warm rains and flowers so bright, God’s gift to mankind, so abundantly rare. Don’t mean a damn thing with no one to share.
