-rain-
Daily Poetry #27, February 24, 2017 Word: Rain Rain falls and makes a steady beat on the ground, While lightning makes a bright and flashy entrance, With thunder following shortly after, asserting itself. Everywhere on the Earth, a mirror can be found. When I look down into the puddles, I see my face, Worn from a busy day's work, tired from walking, And simply wanting out of the pressuring crossroads. But when the rain falls, I feel like I fit in place. Like I, the water wavers when stepped on, Making it hard to see what is truly there. But when left alone, it is calm and clear, All I see is myself, worries all gone. Dropping my umbrella, I walk home through the town, Embracing the sky's cool tears. We're both rather alike, aren't we? So I smile to the sky; let your tears fall down. When I reach my home, the balcony awaits me, So I quickly step back to the lights that flood the town. We're both rather alike, aren't we? Because when the rain stops, the clouds say goodbye. All the mirrors on the ground reflect the broken clouds, The lights, and the people below as life continues. Against the pressuring crossroads, I smile, For when love ends, I say goodbye.
