Escape From Cell Block Eight
“Everything is set to go, the guard makes his rounds at three then we’ll slip into the tunnel and escape this misery. Anticipation of this day is what has deafened me to all the serenades of Siren ideologies.” “Yes the shores of utopia are flooded with the grief weeping from the sunken dreams that are washed upon that reef. But escape is not the answer,” the cell mate he replied, you would be deceived to think it’s a safer place outside. Just take a look around you, wherever you may run, there are those would control you with terror and with gun. There are men in power of such intense insanity they do not care if they destroy all humanity. But if you need to satisfy some appetite for truth go with callous caution or be devoured by the proof. Me, I choose to stay here and finish serving out my time, I know the key to freedom is locked inside my mind.” It was late that evening, above the groans from cell block eight, the sirens laughed hysterically-- an inmate thought he had escaped. The searchlights they went dancing all along the prison walls and the guards they kept romancing the pain oozing from the stalls.
