Carbon Dated
1/13/16 Thankful and grateful to be here With a smile reaching up to each ear Over the span of three years It all started to seem clear Will there ever be peace near? In the dark it waited Certain parts degraded Down and in some of the farthest places And yet not all could accurately be carbon dated Before I truly go I'd like to know Our origin and find proof that we aren't alone Before my bones Turn into ash or dust, to be buried or spread among the stones Legends In all directions Make me question it's authenticity and message As I wonder if there really could be that many different dimensions As originally suggested A moment of action called As I got the drop quick from a canyon wall When all was said and done, I walked away with a cannonball Living with the animals Taught me much and made things understandable Because the knowledge they had was invaluable Even though we all are fallible It was very far from irrational And clearly tangible By: Dalton Ogletree
