My Sleep Talking Honey
Oh, yes, I have heard sleep talking before. And thankfully, it was not always me! Although, I admit that in days of yore I woke myself up in a talking spree. My honey at times talks in between snores. I smile and sit up close with my ear near. Hoping, of course, that there will be encores, I listen carefully so I can hear. It takes great control to hold laughter in. His mouth might contort or snores may sneak out. And sometimes just waiting there makes me grin. No matter what he says, I don’t freak out. There are times when a battle is raging. I see it in the tension on his face. Wondering in silence is engaging. Sometimes he sleeps right through concern’s embrace. At times he starts mumbling someone’s name. I listen closer and smile when it’s mine. He has never mumbled something to defame. I know that I’m his darling Clementine. Straight faced when he mutters something funny. Together, amusement finds his pillow He wakes up, looks around; my sweet honey. That moment, my laughter starts to bellow. 1/8/2017
