Never Noticed
He was a mild mannered man, a Clark Kent type He was never noticed at work, although he never missed a day in his life Each morning, he exchanged the same bland, trite pleasantries No information was ever given of his personal history He preferred it that way, to just blend into the background Don't make waves, don't make a fuss Whenever their was a corporate crisis, he didn't get involved, he let waste management clean up the mess Though he was given the nickname, Mr. Clean It was because he had a neat office cubicle, tidy as the day he first got there, some thirty years ago Other than that casual, circulating office joke, he wasn't noticed at all one bit He didn't make any personal connections with his co-workers, never tried to socially interact at work or off the job They looked at him as being just an ordinary, boring guy, who didn't have much of a life No one ever noticed him Until he came to work with a gun on his last day Retirement was gonna be a free fall, after he threw the golden parachute away The news reports said that he only killed one person, but they couldn't make the connection as to why It was someone in the Human Resources department, whose unlucky day it was to die A bright, young detective finally figured out the mystery of it all: Louise (Lois) Lane never once, ever returned any of his alter ego calls
