Your Gift To Me
YOUR GIFT TO ME by JOHN M. ARRIBAS You slipped into my life, like the dawn slips into the day You disarmed any resistance I had and stripped it away You quietly overwhelmed me with your charm and grace I never really had a chance against your heavenly face You used your beguiling skills to dominate my fears You lifted up my spirits and washed away any tears Yes, you took advantage of all your feminine gifts You reduced me to putty at the first taste of your lips I was not sleeping, I was pitching too, setting my snares To conquer doubts and show, I was wanting your cares I was slowly advancing a plan to steal away your heart Working my magic enrapturing you, right from the start It wasn’t easy you were pristine and elusive as well But, I found the right formula to make you my belle I used all my masculine traits, I bet all of my chips I reduced you to putty at the first taste of my lips I knew I was winning you, but you had already won me We just had to come together, it was our destiny Only you could have blessed me with unending bliss We merged into each other: and I assure you of this I was always your prisoner, but I chained you as well By loving you, holding you, I kept you my belle Dawns have come and gone since those early days You have enriched my life, my wife, in so many ways I woke early this morn after a restless sleep Preparing for a ritual that only I can keep As I walked along the shore with your ashes in hand I recalled all our moments of joy, as I plodded thru the sand I waded into the surf, waited for the waves to recede I placed your earthly beings, let your spirit be freed I will always feel and touch you, when I view the sea I’ll relive that treasured lifetime you shared with me
