What's Left of You
I tried so hard not to break you You hide the truth with your lies The storms I carried you through Now, all is left is your goodbyes I need a little time to catch my breath Please don’t lose faith in our friendship There’s more to life than there is to death Oh yeah, I keep telling you to get a grip I need a secret space to call my own You need a sacred place called home But you keep carrying loads of stress; I want to erase the words I said, But nothing can undo them…I can only move forward with no dread… I won’t look back at the incredible mess I made… No, I won’t look back…all my guilt debt is paid… Don’t fall victim to your childish fear Back then, you were always by my side I know you’re tempted to shed a tear Oh and now, something in me has died… I need a little time to catch my breath Please don’t lose faith in our friendship There’s more to life than there is to death Oh yeah, I keep telling you to get a grip I need a secret space to call my own You need a sacred place called home But you keep carrying loads of stress; I want to erase the words I said, But nothing can undo them…I can only more forward with no dread… I won’t look back at the incredible mess I made… No, I won’t look back…all my guilt debt is paid… I made several mistakes in the past You and I shared good times…don’t remind me, I know I’m so sorry that time goes so fast Are you still a special sunlit glow or a nighttime crow? I need a little time to catch my breath Please don’t lose faith in our friendship There’s more to life than there is to death Oh yeah, I keep telling you to get a grip I need a secret space to call my own You need a sacred place called home But you keep carrying loads of stress; I want to erase the words I said, But nothing can undo them…I can only more forward with no dread… I won’t look back at the incredible mess I made… No, I won’t look back…all my guilt debt is paid… Therefore, my darling, I tell you not to worry so much these days You need to listen up and tell me that you’re okay…I haven’t a clue… Before the break of dawn when we separate in our own silly ways, We need to meet eye to eye and thank me for all I have done for you I tried with all my might to say I’m sorry For not giving you the chance to fly away The sunshine is waiting for you to be free Now, all is left of you is your vibrant day *you don’t have to worry – this is a fiction mostly…some of it is based on or inspired by personal experiences, just like most of my poems on here! Thank you so much for reading. This one was written by looking through my old poetry and I changed it up so much! I hope it is pleasant to the eyes.*
