Nostalgia
Pleasant remembrance, a true resemblance- Nothing compares to your dark luminescence. I can reminisce in delight and still see the night- I can recall your smiles, but so filled with fright. I believe that all dark memories come with light- and with each passing moment I no longer have sight. Nostalgia is but a sentimental flashback- We long for the moments we figuratively lack. Craving for the white to return from the black- and in the middle of the cement a crooked crack. But when I think of you I don’t feel the adoration- I sense the circumstances of intimate separation. I think of all the loveliness God put in your creation- yet you acted impulsively without alleviation. Remembering your temper with a red-hot flare- Not knowing if you really knew we all did care. I’d look into your red eyes and all I’d see a blank stare- all the days and nights filled with fear and prayer. This time of year, I start to feel uncomfortable in remorse- Your moods were such an unrecognizable force. All the days of your life thrown off your direct course- I feel if it were today, my deep love I would reinforce. Nostalgia is nothing but a sentimental thought- But at times regret fills with the wars we fought. Oh, how I remember all the hope in you I sought- but I feel the only thing nostalgia brought… -was a lesson in the present that should’ve been taught. November 26, 2016
